This special dancer wellness company was designed to increase your awareness of the benefits of strong and fit dancers. We are committed to improving your quality of performance and competitive capacity. Our fun, educational, movement workshops offer injury prevention, technique analysis, readiness for pointe and strength training.

LICENSED ATHLETIC TRAINER, FORMER PROFESSIONAL BALLET DANCER

Jacqui Greene Haas has been the athletic trainer for Cincinnati Ballet since 1989 and is currently the Supervisor of Performing Arts Medicine at Mercy Health in Cincinnati. She is a former professional ballet dancer with Boston Ballet, Southern Ballet Theatre, New Orleans City Ballet and Cincinnati Ballet, and holds a BA in Dance from the University of South Florida and an athletic training certificate from the University of Cincinnati. Jacqui has presented her workshops to dancers and instructors at Louisville Ballet, North Carolina Dance Theatre, W. Va. Dance Festival and Cincinnati Ballet including presentations for the National Athletic Trainers Association. She has been published in Dance Magazine, Advanced Rehabilitation Magazine, Dance Teacher Magazine and Irish Dancing Magazine. Ms. Haas had the privilege of touring France as the athletic trainer for the professional Irish Dance company, Lord of the Dance. She is the author of Dance Anatomy, published by Human Kinetics and is excited to be a lecturer at Northern Kentucky University, where she teaches Dance Physiology.

Take a look at the workshop options, each workshop is an hour long and includes basic dance anatomy, floor and barre exercises and discussion time. Email for more details or how we can design a workshop for your specific needs.

INJURY PREVENTION WORKSHOP

This workshop includes intrinsic and extrinsic causes of the most frequent injuries. How to decrease injury risks, how your personal anatomy plays a role in injuries and how to overcome, is the basis for this workshop. Exercises and stretches will be included, there is also time for questions and discussion.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR TURN-OUT

if you have questions about your hips, strength or flexibility and how to improve your turn-out, this workshop is for you. Learn anatomy associated with thigh rotation, stretches to increase your turn-out and exercises to strengthen your hips as well.

A STRONGER ARABESQUE

Learn to attain a higher stronger arabesque. This workshop focuses on strengthening your deep abdominals to support your lower spine and improving mobility in your mid spine. You will learn to strengthen the muscles which move your thigh into arabesque as well as stretching exercises to improve how your hip extends.

PRE-POINTE SCREENINGS

DANCE MEDICINE SCREENINGS

We also offer individualized pre-pointe screenings for your young students, as well as dance medicine screenings for your older students. The screenings include flexibility and strength tests for the feet, ankles and hips. We also test turn-out and abdominal strength. Each dancer receives the results and stretches or exercises that coincide with the findings.
