Dance Medicine

 

Jacqui Greene Haas is the author of Dance Anatomy, a Human Kinetics publication and the director of Dance Medicine at Wellington Orthopaedic Therapy Services and Cincinnati Ballet. She was born in Central Florida where she studied dance at The School of Dance Arts before becoming a professional ballet dancer with Boston Ballet, Southern Ballet Theatre, Tampa Ballet, New Orleans City Ballet and Cincinnati Ballet. She holds a BA in Dance from the University of South Florida and an Athletic Training Certificate from the University of Cincinnati. She also has a certificate in Pilates instruction from St. Francis Memorial Hospital Dance Medicine Division in San Francisco and a certificate in Pilates Rehab from Polestar Education in Miami, Fl. As the Director of Dance Medicine Academic Seminars, she has had the opportunity to speak to dancers, instructors and health care practitioners in Central Florida, Cincinnati, Louisville, Columbus, Toledo, Charlotte, N.C., Chicago, Anaheim and Philadelphia. Ms. Haas has developed injury prevention programs for Cincinnati Ballet, Exhale Dance Tribe, as well as, McGing Irish Dancers, The School for Creative and Performing Arts and the University of Cincinnati Dance Dept. Some of her dance medicine articles have been published in Dance and Dance Teacher Magazine, Irish Dancing Magazine and Advanced Rehabilitation Magazine. She has also presented on Dance Medicine topics at the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science Conference in Tring, England. Jacqui has toured France with the acclaimed Irish Dance Company ‘Lord of the Dance’ as their athletic trainer. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, Pilates Method Alliance and The International Association of Dance Medicine and Science.

 

 

Kelly Jo Trimble is an Athletic Trainer for the Cincinnati Ballet.  Ms. Trimble practiced dance for seven years prior to pursuing her career in athletic training.  Earning her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training at Eastern Kentucky University she then continued her education at Indiana University with a Master’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training. While at Indiana, she worked as an athletic trainer for Indiana University Ballet Theatre. She completed a Master’s thesis researching ‘Postural Sway in Ballet Dancers with Different Levels of Turnout.’ This research was presented at the International Dance Medicine and Science Conference of 2010 in Birmingham, England. After graduating from Indiana University, Kelly Jo traveled with the Tony and Emmy Award winning show ‘Blast!’ for the Japan 2009 tour. Upon returning to the United States, she moved to Chicago where she was able to work with Joffrey Ballet, River North Chicago Dance Company, ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ and ‘Burn the Floor.’ She left Chicago with an opportunity to travel with ‘Lord of the Dance’ 2011 North American tour. Kelly Jo now resides in Cincinnati where she works as the Head Athletic Trainer for Cincinnati Ballet.

 

 

Allison Wagner is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and has a Master’s degree in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Cincinnati.  Allison is also a Certified Personal Trainer and a Certified Wellington Pilates Instructor.

Allison currently teaches Pilates at Wellington and The Indian Hill Winter Club, and has also taught at Dance Etc. and the Otto M. Budig Academy at the Cincinnati Ballet during the summer intensive program.  Allison also owns her own business, Simply Well, providing nutrition and fitness services to individuals as well as large groups.  To date, she has provided nutrition seminars for local high school athletic programs, the Cincinnati Ballet, and many local fitness centers and businesses.     

Allison is a member of the Greater Cincinnati Dietetic Association, The American Dietetic Association, The Ohio Dietetic Association, The Ohio Nutrition Council, and Pilates Method Alliance.
